What is the position?

 

We empower each member of the Waters team to drive PR for our clients in the most effective direction for them. We’re looking for people who are collaborative, creative and willing to take risks to share ideas about  whether it’s media relations, content or social media.

Responsibilities

 

We’re currently looking for a creative, results-focused Account Executive (AE) with B2B tech PR experience to join our global virtual team. This person will play a key role in contributing to multiple accounts and loves all things media relations. The incumbent of this fast-paced, detail oriented and deadline-driven role will be responsible for driving day-to-day media relations activities and be the lead media relations guru on assigned accounts. Responsibilities include:

  • Building out and curating media and influencer lists

  • Cultivating media relationships

  • Conducting media outreach

  • Participating in account calls and providing media updates

  • Writing media pitches

  • Managing editorial calendars

  • Following media and influencers on Twitter, LinkedIn and other social sites

  • Recommending and executing amplification tactics for media hits

  • Preparing briefing sheets in advance of briefings; staffing briefings

  • Staying abreast of all industry and client news

  • Using HARO to identify relevant opportunities

  • Staying up to date on PR trends and client trends

  • Participating in company brainstorms

  • Contributing to reporting needs of assigned accounts

  • Self-managing deadlines and managing up

 

Job Requirements

  • 2-4 years with B2B technology PR clients and campaigns in a PR agency and/or in-house marketing/strategic communications role

  • Strong pitching skills

  • Skilled at managing, cultivating and navigating media landscape and relationships

  • Critical thinking and problem solving; resourcefulness

  • Ability to organize and manage multiple client responsibilities

  • Love for fast pace and dynamic working conditions; comfortable achieving goals and deadlines while managing shifting priorities and expectations
